Happy "60th" Birthday Dad!

My dad turned "60" years old this year! Yup.... the BIG "60"!

That is why.... my sister and I decided that this year we do something a little different from the previous years. Something that my dad would never suspect. We decided to throw him a SURPRISE Birthday Party with all of his brothers and sisters! As you can tell from the picture above...he was SHOCKED. What can I say....it worked! :)

We decided to take our dad to TIKI'S Grill and Bar at the ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel. The food was pretty good. Everyone had a 3 course meal with appetizers ranging from sashimi, cesar salad, house salad, soup - main dishes ranging from salmon, mahimahi, braised ribs, bbq ribs - and dessert dishes ranging from mochi ice cream, cheesecake, mud pie. (yumm...)

A most memorable evening! Although it was a small party, it was just right. Seeing my dad with my aunties and uncles together talking and enjoying themselves was most rewarding. Not to mention the delicious food. He was so happy! We love seeing our dad happy.

**This party could not have been a success without my sister. She worked so hard on the scrapbook enclosed with memorable pictures of my dad throughout his life. Also thank you to my Uncle Kiyo for bringing his fancy camera for taking pictures to help us remember a wonderful evening and so I could post to my blog.**

I don't know what is up with my daughter! She doesn't like to smile and take ANY pictures.

Hopefully she grows out of it.
