We are fortunate to have our little family and very fortunate for our comfortable home. A comfortable home usually comes with a costly mortgage and often other expenses to follow (i.e. food, utilities, entertainment...) --- Bleh!
When we first decided to purchase a home we were very apprehensive with the idea of such a big expense but we knew it was a necessity for our growing family as well as a gratifying investment. Well... months have gone by, we love our home but daddy seems to work, work, work. We are grateful he has a great career but often times wish we'd get to see him more often. (Elle is especially saddened during those times he has to work. She would always tell me, "but daddy misses me")
Huy works long 12 hour shifts 4-5 days of the week. His schedule is completely opposite from most normal people. He works nights and sleeps in the days. So when he is scheduled to work back to back days, we briefly get to see him leaving on his way to work. It's seldom that he gets to have dinner with us. In the daytime when he comes home from work, Elle is already in school so she never gets to see him until he leaves for work. It was the same situation for me when I worked but now that I stay home I get to spend a few hours with him in the morning until he crashes in bed. It's nice.
On occasion there are times Huy has gaps in his work schedule and he's off for a couple days stretch. And when he is off he's there to come with me to walk Elle to school and pick her up. Plus we get to eat dinner together as a family! Elle takes advantage of her time with daddy when he is home. She is daddy's girl and he LOVES her. Being that she is getting older, conversations with her are quite amusing. The things she says and does are hilarious! She has the same sense of humor as her daddy and they both love to play rough.

Huy is off one more day this week then he has another long work week ahead... until next time.
